Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers received their construction permits this month and believe they can have the Maricopa location open within 90 days.

Once the new Freddy’s location opens north of the completed section of Maricopa Station, residents will have access to more parking by the Maricopa Station complex, as well as a new driveway to utilize north of Smith-Enke.

“We broke ground last week near the northeast corner of Smith-Enke Road and John Wayne Highway,” franchise operator Craig Newman said. “We are currently on track to open in mid-November. It’s a great retail corridor with a strong mix of family-friendly establishments and we look forward to joining the community”

Freddy’s will be a standalone structure inside the Maricopa Station complex. It will also likely be the last structure for Maricopa Station for some time because the remainder of the property is owned by Dignity Health.

Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers is a fast-casual restaurant franchise offering lean beef steakburgers, Vienna Beef hot dogs, shoestring fries, and other menu items, as well as dessert treats prepared with your choice of freshly-churned chocolate or vanilla frozen custard. The chain brings to life the America of the late 1940s and early 1950s.

Freddy’s started with two brothers, Bill and Randy Simon, who partnered with restaurateur Scott Redler and were inspired by their father, Freddy Simon.
