GNC to join restaurants and retail stores at Edison Pointe

Maricopa residents looking to stock up on vitamins and nutritional supplements could see another health store pop up in the city.

The health and wellness store GNC is among several new shops slated to join Edison Pointe shopping center near John Wayne Parkway and Edison Road, according to Rodolfo Lopez, development services director for Maricopa. The approval of a tenant improvement permit was announced during a Feb. 9 city planning meeting.

GNC will join a handful of shops and restaurants at the shopping center, including Juice Nekter Bar, Petco and Nando’s Mexican Café.

GNC was founded in 1935 as a small health food store in Pittsburgh, Pa. Currently, 48 of its health stores operate in Arizona.
