On Friday, Jan. 4, the Maricopa Unified School District and McCarthy Construction will be hosting a groundbreaking ceremony to commemorate the construction of the new grades 6-8 middle school located in the Tortosa subdivision.
The Tortosa subdivision is situated to the east of Maricopa (take Honeycutt Road east, then enter Tortosa and continue to the east after the circle).
The event will take place at 10:30 a.m. and will last for approximately half an hour. Light refreshments will be served.
