Happy Birthday, Harrah’s; it’s a celebration from Christmas to New Year’s

53

December is a busy time for everyone. And Harrah’s Phoenix Ak-Chin Casino is no exception. They are wrapping up 2005 with a whole lot of celebration: their eleventh anniversary and a New Year’s week truly worth celebrating!

Harrah’s Phoenix Ak-Chin Casino Resort is prepared to entertain from Boxing Day until the champagne is uncorked on New Year’s Eve! Shake off the bad-gift blues with The Ultimate Blues Brothers Tribute. Eric Martin and Carmen Romano recreate the high energy as Dan Aykroyd and the late John Belushi. Martin and Romano have appeared on The Tonight Show, The Today Show and Entertainment Tonight. Be part of their mission from “Gad” December 26. Performances are at 8 and 10 p.m.

On December 27, Harrah’s Phoenix Ak-Chin Casino Resort will celebrate its eleventh anniversary. And, in typical Harrah’s fashion, they are doing it in style! Harrah’s will feature 11th Anniversary cash drawings held every two hours from 1:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. throughout the month of December. Total Rewards cardholders can play to earn entries for the December 27 cash drawings.

The Classic Rock All Stars will take over the Oasis Lounge to help Harrah’s celebrate their 11th Anniversary. They are a combination of everything great about the classic rock era, with members from Sugarloaf, Alice Cooper, Rare Earth and Cannibal and the Headhunters. Relive the era with songs like “Ride Captain Ride,” “Green Eyed Lady,” “Get Ready” and “Losin’ You.” The experienced band lives by the motto: Rock music cures all that ails you. Come get a healthy dose of classic rock in the Oasis Lounge at 8 and 10 p.m.

Harrah’s will also give 21 lucky guests tickets to the B.B. King concert at the Dodge Theatre on December 29. The ticket giveaways will be held at 2:30 p.m., 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. A pair of lucky fans will win front-row seats for the concert, as well as a meet-and-greet with B.B. King.

Things get groovy when The Family Stone Experience bring their old school funk music to Harrah’s December 28. Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame inductee and founding member of Sly and the Family Stone, Jerry Martin, has brought together a band to revive the legacy and sound of Sly and the FamilyStone with classic songs like “I Want to Take You Higher,” “Everyday People,” and “Thank You For Letting Me Be My Self Again.” The funk starts at 8 and 10 p.m. in the Oasis Lounge.

If you ever missed Elvis in concert, here’s your chance to relive that exciting era, because All Shook Up is how Travis LeDoyt leaves his audiences. He’s guaranteed to make you do a double take as Young Elvis on December 29 and 30. LeDoyt will perform at 8 and 10 p.m in the Oasis Lounge.

On New Year’s Eve, millions get ready to turn over a new leaf or begin a new chapter of their lives. What better way to do so than with Turn the Page: A Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band Tribute. Combining decades of experience touring and recording, the members of Turn the Page faithfully reproduce the sound and power of Bob Seger’s signature American Rock. Turn the Page ignites the raw fuel of every Seger note and phrase, allowing the audience to experience the power of this singular sound. Enjoy classic Seger hits like, “Against the Wind,” “Like A Rock,” and “Still the Same” in the Oasis Lounge at 8, 10 and midnight.

Also on New Year’s Eve, Harrah’s will be handing out all the celebration essentials including festive hats and noisemakers to ring in 2006 with style!
