Harrah’s Ak-Chin customers to become real treasure hunters

Let the hunt begin! Harrah’s began its themed Treasure Hunt promotion in Phoenix on February 1. Every guest who is a Total Rewards member receives a treasure chest with Treasure Hunt prizes inside. Chests include a gift certificate for eBay from $5 to $5,000 in value and additional prizes like South West Airlines gift cards, diamond necklaces or cold, hard cash. One treasure chest will have $1 million hidden inside! The promotion ends on March 26.

Treasure hunters will have another opportunity to win on April 23. Harrah’s will hold a drawing where five other contestants will be selected to win up to $100,000.

Contestants can obtain entries for property promotions by signing up for a Harrah’s Total Rewards card, by visiting Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino Resort or any other participating casino on a designated promotion day or by obtaining free entries, as no play is required to enter the Treasure Hunt promotion. Additionally, eBay is hosting its own part of the promotion online, at www.treasurehunt.ebay.com.

At a celebration at Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino Resort on March 26, three Treasure Hunt entrants will be randomly selected for their chance to search the Las Vegas Strip high and low and become Harrah’s latest million-dollar winner. Each of the selected entrants and a guest will receive a complimentary trip to Harrah’s Las Vegas.

On April 23, the casino enthusiasts, along with fellow participants from other Harrah’s-operated casinos, will team up with guides to track down the elusive prize boxes that are scattered under Nevada’s neon lights at six Harrah’s-operated casinos: Bally’s, Caesars Palace, the Flamingo, Harrah’s Las Vegas, Paris and the Rio.

When the search is over, one of the treasure hunters is guaranteed to leave the Strip with $1 million (the sum awarded in a separate promotion as an annuity of $50,000 for 20 years or as a discounted lump sum). Each participant will win at least $400.

This marks the third time Harrah’s has executed the Treasure Hunt promotion, and the first time the search has taken place on the Strip. In previous years, hundreds of casino players from across the country participated in the promotion by searching for treasure hidden in the Nevada desert.

“We’re thrilled to offer our customers the chance to search the LasVegas Strip for hidden treasure,” said Geoff Andres, general manager of Harrah’s Phoenix Ak-Chin Casino Resort. “There’s no question in my mind that this year’s Treasure Hunt will be the best yet.”
