There is a slight chance of showers all week for Maricopa, according to the National Weather Service, but also an air-quality alert in place Tuesday.

Today, a mostly sunny day is in place with a 10-percent chance of rain this afternoon and evening. The high is expected to hit 108 with a heat index as high as 111. Breezes may gust up to 20 mph. The overnight low will be around 84.

Tuesday will be much the same but with calmer winds. The day is forecast to be sunny with a high of 108 and a 10-percent chance of precipitation. The forecast weather conditions combined with existing ozone levels are expected to result in maximum eight-hour ozone concentrations that pose a health risk, according to the Pinal County Department of Air Quality. Adverse health effects increase as air quality deteriorates. The nighttime low will be around 83.

Wednesday is expected to be sunny and hot, the hottest day of the week with a predicted high of 110. During the evening, however, there is a 20-percent chance of rain and a low of 84.

Thursday‘s forecast sees mostly sunny skies, mostly sunny skies, a 10-percent chance of rain and a high near 109. Overnight the chance of rain increases to 20 percent and the low will be around 83.

Friday will likely be mostly sunny with a high near 108. There is a 10-percent chance of rain in the afternoon and a predicted overnight low of 82.

That leads to a mostly sunny weekend with lingering chances of thunderstorms.
