Late Nov. 19, a woman was arrested and charged with aggravated DUI.
The suspect, Leenette F. Sope, was charged with multiple counts of DUI including; DUI, DUI .08, DUI .15, DUI .20, and Aggravated DUI.
Around 7 p.m., police stopped a vehicle on John Wayne Parkway because Sope failed to keep the vehicle between the lines.
Once stopped, the driver identified herself verbally as Leenette Sope, as she was speaking, police said that they noticed her eyes to be glossy. They said her speech was slurred and her breath had a strong smell of alcohol.
According to police documents, officers saw four children in the back seat all under the age of 15. Sope claimed to have had drank six beers in the last hour.
Sope would not follow the pen during the horizontal gaze nystagmus field sobriety test and refused standardized field sobriety tests.
Sope blew a .242 on a preliminary breath test and later was brought to the police station blew a .275 and .287 on Maricopa Police Department’s Intoxilyzer 8000 machine.
Sope was booked into the Pinal County jail.
