Victims’ rights event set for Saturday

The Maricopa Police Department’s first Jerry Good Victims’ Rights Awareness Project will be 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at First Baptist Church, 18705 N. John Wayne Parkway.

In conjunction with National Crime Victims’ Rights Week and the Pinal County Attorney’s office, the event will feature a poster contest and “Empty Shoes” display honoring victims and crime survivors.

Scheduled speakers include Maricopa Police Chief Steve Stahl, Mayor Christian Price, Pinal County Attorney Lando Voyles and members of the Pinal County Attorney’s Family Advocacy Center.

Local vendors will be on hand and there will be activities for children.
