I would like to express my deepest appreciation to the people of Maricopa who supported me in the MUSD 20 School Board election. Your faith in me as demonstrated by your votes is inspiring and humbling.

Serving on the School Board is an honor and great responsibility. Since the School Board ultimately exists for the benefit of the children of Maricopa, it is with these children and their bright future in mind, that I commit to serve on this Board with careful consideration in each decision made and each challenge faced.

Prior to the election, several people helped me gather signatures to enter the primary. Thank you Nancy Smith, Lee Ann Clark, Andy Lockridge, Ted Yocum, Ken Lepper, Beth Fahriger, Karen Stark and AnnaMarie Knorr. Your assistance made it possible for me to become a candidate.

Other numerous helpers, friends and family delivered my information card to many doors in Maricopa. I am grateful to you and to those who distributed literature at the polls on Election Day. By volunteering your time and service, you demonstrated your hope in our American election system.

Thank you also to those who advised me and motivated me to keep working and to do more.

Although the COVID-19 virus has interrupted our personal lives and the function of the schools, I continue to be optimistic regarding our educational system and our plans for the future. May 2021 be a great year for our schools.

Jim Jordan was elected to the Maricopa Unified School District Governing Board in November.
