The show “Frenemies” on the TV channel Investigation Discovery will broadcast an episode tonight about a February 2011 incident in which a Maricopa teen planned to perform a Caesarean section on an acquaintance who was nine months pregnant.

Kassandra Toruga, then 18, admitted to police she tried to kill fellow teen Angelique Robledo and take her baby. Toruga pleaded guilty by reason of insanity to attempted arson in February 2012 and was sentence to 7 ½ years in a mental health facility.

During the incident in Robledo’s Cobblestone Farms home, Toruga set a fire in a bedroom closet. Police found that Toruga had brought two large butcher knives and a pair of scissors to the house.

The show will feature taped interviews of Robledo and Maricopa Police Department Sgt. Mary Turner. A clip of the episode on the TV show’s website depicts actors role playing the incident.

Part of the episode’s taping took place at a Maricopa fire station in August.

The segment, “Dying for a baby,” is 30 minutes, according to the show’s website. It will come on during an episode of Frenemies at 7:30 p.m. on Orbitel channel 95, according to the Orbitel TV guide.
