Lane restrictions on SR 238 begin

Drivers should expect delays on State Route 238 west of town this week as the Arizona Department of Transportation is planning pavement sealing on the highway.

There will be lane restrictions in place on both east- and westbound SR 238 between SR 347 and 91st Avenue from 3 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, Nov. 8, and Tuesday, Nov. 9, for pavement sealing.

The affected section runs from Maricopa’s main thoroughfare to just west of Mobile. Flagging crews will direct traffic through the work zone, with vehicles traveling only one direction at a time while work is taking place.

ADOT is recommending that drivers allow extra travel time and plan for delays those days. The department also reminds drivers to slow down, prepare for intermittent delays, and use caution around construction personnel and equipment.

For further information drivers can call ADOT’s Bilingual Project Information Line at 855-712-8530 or go to azdot.gov/contact and select Projects from the drop-down menu. Real-time highway conditions for roads statewide are available at ADOT’s Traveler Information Site at www.az511.gov.
