Four Rams headed to college athletic programs

Four Maricopa High School student athletes signed letters of intent for collegiate athletic programs Tuesday on National Signing Day for the 2013-2014 school year during a press conference held by MHS and district Athletic Director Cory Nenaber.

Andrea Wilson signed a Letter of Intent to play softball at Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kan. Andrea is a multiple year letter winner in softball and will have an opportunity to pitch and play first base at Bethany. Andrea plans to study athletic training in college.

Caleb Buck signed to play football at the University of Mary in Bismarck, N.D. Caleb played quarterback for the Rams and helped lead the team to a 7-4 record, a state tournament bid, and a home playoff game. Caleb will play quarterback at the next level and plans to study business.

Josh Madu also signed to play football at the University of Mary. Josh started and played every game at middle linebacker for MHS, earning second team All-Section Honors as a senior while collecting a record 148 tackles. He will linebacker in college; he has not decided on a major.

Kentrell Coleman signed to play football at Glendale Community College. Kentrell was a versatile weapon for the Rams leading the team in rushing, touchdowns and kick returns. He will play running back and receiver in the Arizona college and hopes to transfer to a four-year university after receiving his associate degree.
