Library hosting Dr. Seuss birthday party Saturday

What would childhood be without the Grinch, the Cat in the Hat, One Fish, Two Fish or the “Places You’ll Go?”

Saturday, Feb. 27, one of the places you should go is the Dr. Seuss birthday celebration at the Maricopa Public Library, beginning at 10 a.m.

This will be a fun, family-oriented day to celebrate the March 2 birthday of the beloved author, Dr. Seuss, with the following events:

Face painting, presented by Auntie Pooh and Mama Oompa, 10 a.m. to noon and 1-3 p.m.

Story time from 10-10:30 a.m. (“Horton Hears a Who”) and 2-2:30 p.m. (“Green Eggs and Ham”)

Children (or adults) can make their own Grinch mask and win Dr. Seuss books in guessing games. Either the Grinch or the Cat in the Hat will be making a special appearance.

Finally, at checkout, cookies will be available courtesy of Fry’s Marketplace, as well as and balloons, courtesy of ACE Hardware.

Some volunteers are needed to hand out cookies and balloons.

For additional information or to volunteer, contact the Maricopa Public Library at 520-316-6960.
