While opening day for the big leaguers is still two weeks away, Maricopa’s brightest Little League players will start their season this Saturday.

The Maricopa Little League will host an opening day ceremony at 8 a.m. this Saturday at Pacana Park, 19000 N. Porter Road.

The festivities will include player introductions, the national anthem and a bevy of vendor booths to get to know the people helping to support the league.

In addition to the festivities, which are projected to last 45 minutes, there will also be a day of baseball as the first games start at 9 a.m.

“We are ready to kick off another great season of Maricopa Little League and invite the community to come out and join us,” said league representative Victor Gonzalez.
