Local healthcare options part of a long list of summertime business openings

Maricopa Urgent Care has opened its doors to begin to serve the residents of Maricopa. With a full staff onsite, Dr. Kenneth Pettit is excited to offer Maricopa residents a local facility for both emergencies and times when their own doctor’s office is not open or cannot take them. Currently open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., the office plans to extend its hours as the needs arise.

Also in the working stages is a full x-ray facility in the same building to further serve the needs of the community. “We are not an ER. We are an extended hours doctor’s office,” commented Dr. Pettit, “and we will provide those services that are needed.”

Realizing the need for an urgent care facility in Maricopa, the doors opened before all the insurance contracts were in place. “We have been working on it for months, but there are many factors involved when going online with an insurance company. We called around to other urgent care clinics and priced ourselves, so that we were within range of what similar facilities are offering; only we are right here in town,” answered Dr. Pettit when asked about his fees and the insurance companies they are trying to sign on with. The fee for an office visit is $85. If you have insurance, the office will give you a description of services and insurance codes so that you can submit a reimbursement request to your insurance company. “The best thing the community can do right now is call their insurance companies and ask to have Maricopa Urgent Care added to their lists.”

Eye care has come to Maricopa as well. Whether you are looking for eyeglass frames, a new prescription, contacts or suffer from an infection or glaucoma, Maricopa Eye Care is open to assist you. With a custom facility and top brands, including some you can’t get anywhere else in Arizona, Dr. Roger Vesper, Optometrist, and his wife, Jeanene, have designed a clinic that is not only the closest eye care facility for Maricopa residents, but one that offers more services than others that you might travel 20 or more miles to visit.

Rancho El Dorado residents for more than two years, the Vespers finally realized their goal of opening a full service optical office in Maricopa when they opened their doors this summer. Certified with VSP (Vision Service Plans), they are currently working with other insurance carriers to be listed with them as well.

Maricopa Eye Care is also located in the Maricopa Professional Village at 21300 N John Wayne Parkway, Suite 119. They are open Monday-Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and evenings and Saturdays by appointment.

As new retail centers open all over Maricopa, many businesses are relocating to permanent locations. Alliance Health Center and Studio Charme, along with Courtny Tyler State Farm Agency, have relocated to the Maricopa Business Center at 44480 W. Honeycutt Road. The businesses will host their Grand Opening on Saturday, October 28, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a free event, featuring raffles, chair massages, hair consultations, acupuncture mini-treatments, pizza and chocolate fondue. The Maricopa Fire Department will also be on hand providing free child car seat safety inspections.
