Today's clouds are expected to leave in time for the weekend.

Current clouds will turn into a sunny weekend for Maricopa, according to the National Weather Service, but cooler temperatures loom next week.

Tonight will continue to be cloudy, but the temperature will drop only to 61 degrees F. Breezes will range from 5 to 15 mph with 20 mph gusts.

Friday is forecast to be sunny with a high near 82 and winds 5-10 mph. The night will be partly cloudy with a low around 53.

Saturday is also expected to be mostly sunny with a high near 81. Winds may return at 5-15 mph and gusts up to 20 mph. The night will be mostly clear with low dropping to 48.

Sunday’s forecast calls for sunny skies but a high of just 74 degrees and continued winds. The overnight low will be around 45 under mostly clear skies.

That leads into a week that currently is forecast to be sunny with highs in the 70s.
