Editor’s note: The charges were later dropped.

A man was arrested on April 1 after police suspect he burglarized a Maricopa home and later resisted arrest.

At about 9:45 p.m., Tenasia Dixon reported a man, believed to be Steven Kanowsky, 52 – who uses the alias Zane Kane, entered her home on West Cahill Drive without permission.

Dixon said her mother used to date Kanowsky, but he has never lived in the residence.

Kanowsky used a code to unlock the front door, then took a mini refrigerator and other property from the master bedroom, according to the probable-cause statement.

Dixon tried to relock the door, but Kanowsky allegedly pushed her out of the doorway and walked back inside.

Kanowsky drove away in a blue and white RV, as described by the reporting party.

About an hour later, MPD located Kanowsky’s RV in the Bashas’ parking lot. Kanowsky refused to get out of the vehicle and continued to disobey orders, police said.

At 11:02 p.m., Kanowsky was arrested on suspicion of criminal trespassing, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and second-degree burglary.

He was booked into Pinal County jail.
