Manuel J. Fuentes was arrested on an outstanding warrant for sexual conduct with a minor following a Nov. 19 traffic stop by Maricopa Police.

The stop took place at Edison Road and Butterfield Parkway at about 3:20 p.m. During the stop, officers ran a wants and warrants check and found that Fuentes had two outstanding warrants for his arrest. The first was for sexual conduct with a minor, a Grand Jury indictment in conjunction with his arrest for the sex crime in June and carried a secured bond of $100,000.

The second warrant was for $2,404.72, issued by the Western Pinal Justice Court for contracting without a license.

During the traffic stop, Fuentes was asked if he had any weapons or drugs in the vehicle and he said he did not. Upon conducting an inventory search of the vehicle after his arrest, officers discovered two large knives, which qualified as deadly weapons, between the passenger seat and the center console.

Fuentes was taken to the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office jail and booked for the two warrants.
