A man who police say initially did not stop Sunday night when they followed him with their lights and siren on faces numerous charges, according to officers.

Jonas O. Miguel, 24, was booked into Pinal County Jail on suspicion of possession of dangerous drugs, dangerous drugs for sale, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to stop, according to Maricopa Police and the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office website.

According to the probable cause statement:

At about 9:40 p.m., Maricopa Police attempted to make a traffic stop on a vehicle just north of the intersection if West Bowlin Road and State Route 347.

Police reported that the vehicle, driven by Miguel, did not stop as an officer followed the vehicle with the overhead lights on.

The officer turned on the siren, but the vehicle continued until it turned off State Route 347 onto Alterra Parkway and came to a stop a half mile later.

According to police, Miguel was found to be in possession of a green container with 4 small baggies of a crystal-like substance. A NIK test returned the substance as a presumptive positive for methamphetamine and weighed 10.2 grams.

Officers also reported they found a glass pipe with a bulbous end, with burn marks and residue.
