A man is accused of assaulting three police officers after he allegedly stole drinks from a local coffee shop on Tuesday, according to Maricopa police.

On May 16, at 4:47 p.m., Maricopa police responded to Starbucks, 21423 N. John Wayne Pkwy, on a report of a man, later identified as Kyle J. Noon, stealing drinks. Pinal County jail records have Noon listed as a 31-year-old man.

According to a probable-cause statement, Noon had run south towards Denny’s, where an officer tried to contact him. Noon ran away from the officer and ran across State Route 347, where he was contacted by other officers.

Police told Noon to put his hands on one of the police vehicles, when he refused to follow their commands. Officers tried to place Noon in handcuffs, but he reportedly began resisting by pulling his arms away.

Noon reportedly assaulted three officers during the altercation. During a struggle on the ground, Noon damaged a radio earpiece that police valued at $200, and $100 uniform pants. He was eventually placed in handcuffs.

Noon was arrested and booked into Pinal County jail on suspicion of criminal damage, theft, obstructing a public thoroughfare, crossing a road other than at a crosswalk, resisting arrest, and three counts of aggravated assault.
