Maricopa police arrested a 30-year-old man Tuesday suspected of loading a gun and pointing it at a woman inside a residence on the 9000 block of North Loma Drive during an incident that took place last Thursday.

Edward Sproul was arrested Tuesday evening at a residence in the Senita neighborhood on suspicion of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and drug possession. Maricopa Police Department spokesman Ricky Alvarado said police found a 9mm handgun and meth inside the Senita house on the 18000 block of West Comet Trail.

Alvarado said the 38-year-old woman told police that during the Thursday incident, Sproul loaded the handgun, pointed it at her and said, “You’re not worth the bullet.” He then left the North Loma Drive residence in a black vehicle.

The same black vehicle was located Tuesday by an officer patrolling in the Senita neighborhood. Alvarado said Sproul was arrested without incident and booked into Pinal County Jail.

The woman and Sproul were acquaintances, he said. It's currently unclear what prompted the man to point the gun at the woman.
