After a traffic stop on Honeycutt Road Friday, a man wanted on a warrant for drug-possession charges was arrested by Maricopa Police Department on drug-possession charges.

Qejaun Clinkscale, 26, was stopped around 5:30 p.m. When MPD ran a warrants check, they found one out of Maricopa County Superior Court with a bond of $1,800. Clinkscale allegedly told officers he had four Percocet pills, two syringes and a used metal spoon in his backpack.

Police reportedly found those items as well as “black tar-like substance wrapped in plastic” that weighted half a gram. The officer identified it as heroin. Clinkscale allegedly said he had purchased the “old” heroin more than two years ago in Utah. He had prior arrests in Utah County and Washington County in that state.

According to the MPD report, Clinkscale said he bought the Percocet pills for $10 each and used one Thursday night.

Clinkscale was arrested and booked into the Pinal County jail on the outstanding warrant and the additional recommended charges of possession of a dangerous drug and drug paraphernalia. His bond is $1,000.
