Maricopa building permits down 62 percent since last September

The latest permit numbers are out for the city of Maricopa.

In September the city issued a total of 87 building permits. In August the city issued 102 permits, and a year ago they issued 228 in the month of September.

Of the 87 permits issued in September, 35 were for single-family homes. In August there were 55 single-family home permits issued, and last year in September there were 144.

Seven of last month’s permits were for non-residential construction, compared to 16 issued in August and 24 in September of last year.

The remainder of permits issued, 45 in number, were for pools, demolition and plumbing, engineering and electrical changes or additions.
