Maricopa dentistry expands practice, services

A Maricopa dentistry has expanded with the purchase of Maricopa Fiesta Dental.

Dr. Tim Taylor started Arizona Associates in Dentistry in 2005, changing locations in 2010 before recently acquiring neighboring practice at 21116 N. John Wayne Parkway, Suite B-7.

The graduate of the University of Illinois at Chicago dental school has been practicing dentistry for 26 years.

The new location, at what was Maricopa Fiesta Dental, will allow for expanded hours and more space.

“Combining practices, we basically doubled up on the people who work for us, so it allows us to do more,” Taylor said.

He said they now have eight employees who can offer more times and cleanings for patients. Taylor’s practice had been closed Fridays while he taught at the Arizona School of Dental and Oral Health in Mesa.

“We’ve been growing every year since we’ve been out here,” he said. “Our patients send us a lot of referrals; we can’t thank our patients enough for that.”

Maricopa Fiesta Dental’s Dr. Matt Roper and Dr. Nathan McLaws approached Taylor about buying their practice, Taylor said.

Taylor said McLaws is staying on.

“Dr. Roper was dealing with a family illness and that’s what prompted this sale,” he said. “They had done their research on me and we kind of had similar philosophies.”

Taylor said he grew up in a small town of 2,000 people and Maricopa is big in comparison.

“I first started coming down here before anything was built out here,” he said.

He said everyone weathered hard times from about 2009 to 2012, and “we came through it fine.”

“We try to make it a fun environment,” he said. “Most people don’t like going to the dentist. We try to help that out as much as we possibly can.”

Taylor lives in Chandler with his wife Jill.
