Maricopa Fire crews douse truck blaze in driveway

Firefighters responded Thursday to a home where a pick-up truck caught fire in a driveway.

The smoky fire in the bed of a vehicle parked at a residence on West Pariso Lane was reported by neighbors, according to MFD Fire Chief Chris Bolinger.

extinguished the flames quickly thanks to an alert neighbor, and prevented the flames from spreading to the house, Bolinger said.

“The fire would have almost certainly extended into the home if it had continued to grow. Neighbors stated that the vehicle’s owner was not home at the time,” Bolinger said. “There were no injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation.”
