A Maricopa girl will compete in the National American Miss Arizona pageant on Labor Day Weekend.

Aurora Leigh Willoughby, 10, is a state finalist in the pageant to be held Sept. 5 and 6 in Scottsdale.

In addition to pageanting, Aurora enjoys hiking, soccer, cheer, dance and singing.

She also volunteers with the nonprofit Feed My Starving Children.

Her sponsors include Above and Beyond Nails Spa, Joe’s barbershop, Roots Eatery, The Box Meat Shop, True Grit Tavern, Honeycutt Coffee, Mr. E Comics, Serenity Nail Salon and Premier Orthodontics, plus family and friends.

The winner, to be crowned Miss Arizona Pre-teen, will receive a $1,000 cash award, the official crown and banner, a bouquet of roses and transportation to compete in the national pageant at Disneyland.

Contestants will compete in four categories formal wear modeling, personal introduction, interview and community service project.
