The Maricopa High School Gems Winter Guard and MHS Rams Percussion competed Saturday at Millennium High School in Goodyear where they competed in the Winter Guard Arizona competition.
Members of the newly formed percussion unit received first place in their division in their debut performance.
Both groups include many members who have not previously participated in Winter Guard or Drumline.
Upcoming performances include:
• Feb. 23, Casa Grande Union High School
• March 23, Maricopa Winter Guard Arizona show at MHS
• April 6, Winter Guard Arizona championships at the Grand Canyon University Arena
