Maricopa High School will host the 2013 Rams Basketball Camp 5 to 6 p.m. daily June 10 through June 13.

The camp is for boys and girls who will be in grades fourth-ninth in the fall. The cost is $40.

Coach Jake Neill, the MHS boy’s varsity basketball coach, is committed to conducting a camp where everyone who participates not only learns the fundamentals of basketball, but also has fun, according to a Maricopa Unified School District press release.

Skills to be taught include shooting, offensive moves, dribbling, passing, defense and rebounding.

Campers will learn drills to do at home and participate in a series of individual and team games designed to reinforce basketball fundamentals.

Emphasis will be placed on gaining satisfaction through the process of competing and not on the actual outcome.

Each camper will participate in the free-throw, hot shot, dribble-derby, and knockout competitions: 3-on-3 and 5-on-5 games also will be part of the camp activities.
