After a nationwide search, Maricopa City Manager Gregory Rose hired Martin Scribner as the director of Development Services.

Scribner has held similar roles for nearly two decades. He has provided long range planning and code enforcement services to 20 jurisdictions across Northern Kentucky. He will be leaving his current job as the director of Planning & Zoning Administration for Kenton County, Kentucky, to come to Maricopa.

The move to Arizona is something Scribner has been looking to do for a while. He was finally provided with what he referred to as the right opportunity to relocate here.

“The promise of no more winters is a huge perk,” Scribner said. “My wife and I have been looking to get out to Arizona for some time. It just never seemed to be the right time or opportunity. This is a great opportunity with a young city that will experience a lot of growth.”

"Mr. Scribner has more than 17 years in the planning profession,” Rose said in a statement. “Martin is a certified planner, a certified flood plain administrator and holds a master's degree in Urban and Regional Planning from Ball State University."

In his new position, Scribner will report directly to the city manager. He will be responsible for overseeing Code Enforcement, Planning and Zoning, and transportation for the city.
