Maricopa home party vendors hold first vendor expo

Maricopa’s first Vendor Expo was held today at the Maricopa Elementary School cafeteria from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Various home party vendors and home-based businesses displayed their products and services.

Residents check out the products at the Maricopa Vendor Expo.

Organizer Gina Segarra explained how she came up with the idea for the biggest home party in Maricopa. “My car broke down, and I couldn’t get to Mesa for my part time job as a receptionist. I got on and started looking for people with home party businesses. I found 17 vendors in one day. That was just a month ago, and now there are 23 home businesses represented here at the expo,” said Segarra.

Gina Segarra organized today’s event.

Among the 23 vendors at today’s event were All About Pleasures Parties, Tastefully Simple, Maricopa Tee’s, Fine Fashion Jewelry, Mary Kay Cosmetics, Great American Realty, Avon, Boon Creations, Complete Home Culinary, Your Scrap Artist, Captured Smiles Photo, Discovery Toys, Pampered Chef, Jamie’s Jewels, Princess House, Tupperware, Longaberger Baskets, A Time to Remember, Home Interiors, Gold Canyon Candles, Creative Memories, Stampin’ Up, Arbonne and Nishoni Pottery.

Liana Bacashihua shows off some of her stamp art.
Eugenia Johnson and son Sabian, who is also a potter, displayed their Navajo etched pottery pieces.
Bretta Shelton and some of the delicious food products from Tastefully Simple.

A raffle was held for 21 baskets of great products. All ticket proceeds were earmarked for the Maricopa Parks, Recreation, and Libraries’ Cultural Activities Center.

Segarra plans another vendor expo in early October. That two-day event will be held on both a Saturday and a Sunday. She hopes to hold two expos each year, one in April and one in October.
