Maricopa Kaos softball has three open roster spots

The Maricopa Kaos girls’ 10-13-year-old club softball team is now holding tryouts for three open roster spots.

The club formed in January 2009 with the plan of offering a year round softball experience for the girls of Maricopa. “It is a big commitment,” said the team’s head coach Carrie Mattson.

The team practices twice a week at different locations around the city and typically plays in one tournament a month. “Right now most of our tournaments are held in Phoenix, but we would like to eventually expand,” Mattson said.

Mattson added that summer vacation has added a few things to her players’ plates, which has created some vacancies on the team.

In addition to the time, playing with the team involves a one-time start up fee and monthly dues.
