Today and Wednesday the Maricopa Police Department is having a two-day auction to raise money for its first “Shop with a Cop,” a program in which police officers are paired with children to go shopping.
It’s part of national program.
The auction is 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Great Western Bank Maricopa Branch, 19750 N. John Wayne Parkway.
Items are:
- Samsung 40-inch LCD HDTV: value $700, donated by Walmart.
- Harrah’s gaming gift basket including one-night stay for two people, meal for two Agave’s, Harrah’s sweatshirts, playing card, tumblers, 1.75 liter Absolut Vodka: value $500, donated by Harrah’s Ak-Chino Casino Resort.
- Round of golf (four), including a cart: $100 value, donated by The Duke Golf Club.
- Total house cleaning (two): $500 value, donated by Hometown Buzz Services
All auction Items will be on display at the bank along with bid sheets. Higher bidders will be notified by phone 7 p.m. Wednesday.
