In its September sales tax collections, Maricopa fell off $46,000 from August.

Compared to last September’s transaction privilege tax totals, the city was almost $65,000 behind.

The Arizona Department of Revenue released the September numbers in October.

Maricopa businesses brought in $797,194 in sales tax during the month. The bulk of the month-to-month drop in collections was in retail trade, which was down $57,000 in September compared to August.

A $56,848 month-to-month gain in communications and utilities collections could not offset the dip of $16,000 in manufacturing and $13,000 in construction.

Maricopa’s September was about $24,000 ahead of its July totals. For the fiscal year to date, the city has collected $2,413,839 in transaction privilege tax.
