Maricopa Women in Business are scheduled to host their 2nd annual fashion show to raise college scholarship funds for two Maricopa high school females.

The theme of this year’s luncheon is Mothers and Daughters, which describes the core of models who will walk the runway at Province Community Center May 12.

“We have three generations of mothers and daughters in the show, so there will be fashions for all ages to get excited about,” said Celeste Interrante, MWIB Vice President and Fundraising Chair.

Models from last year’s MWIB Fashion Show pose after the show; this year’s pre-Mother’s Day event will feature three generations of mothers and daughters as models.

Performances by Desert Sun Performing Arts Studio and Maricopa Black Belt Academy are scheduled for the event along with raffle prizes and door prizes.

MWIB leadership said they hope to increase their ticket sales from last year’s 89 to 225. This goal will allow them to add a second scholarship recipient.

In addition MWIB will have two booths at the Maricopa Salsa Festival April 28 where tickets for the fashion show will be available. One booth will sell cotton candy to raise additional funds for the scholarship, and the other has information about the organization and its participants.

“The fashion show will be a fun social event for Maricopa’s residents, and we anticipate it to be even bigger and better than last year. It will give the community an opportunity to support a great cause,” said Kimberly Diedrich, MWIB secretary.

Maricopa Women in Business 2007 Fashion Show tickets are on sale now for $25 for adults and $15 for children 12 and under. All proceeds are expected to go towards the scholarship.
