Maricopa’s celebration of American independence is just one month away. On July 4, the City of Maricopa’s Parks, Recreation and Libraries (PRL) Department will host the Great American Barbeque at Pacana Park from 5:30-9:30 p.m.

Plenty of fun, family and free events will be offered during the celebration, including a wiffleball tournament, a water zone and a pie-eating contest. Maricopans can begin practicing now for the watermelon seed-spitting contest.

Events will be followed by a movie in the park and Maricopa’s first ever fireworks display at dusk.

The all-you-can-eat full barbeque will be $10 for adults and $5 for kids.
