All proceeds from this sale, which lasted until noon, will go toward support for the library’s programs and services.

Formed in April of 2004, the Friends are a non-profit fundraising and support group for the city’s Parks, Recreation and Libraries Department. They hope to continue increasing public awareness about the services, programs and facilities offered by our community library. The group organized a Harry Potter birthday party for Maricopa children in July and provided volunteers for the recent Founder’s Day event.

“We’re looking to sponsor more social events, like coffees and teas, to increase our membership. We also hope to sponsor book discussion groups in the community, and, of course, support any new library projects,” explained Friends’ president, Marisa McDonald.

Residents interested in joining the Friends of the Maricopa Community Library can email the group or contact McDonald at (480) 231-3577 for further information.
