Meet the teacher: Chris King

Meet Desert Wind Middle School teacher Chris King.

King, a Casa Grande resident and father two young girls, is in his first year of teaching at MUSD.

King teaches math and describes himself as a numbers guy. “I have a passion for math,” King said.

However, his passion expands beyond the numbers. King said he loves working with the younger generation.

“Every day brings new challenges and opportunities to inspire and educate the students in my care,” King said.

King views his teaching approach as one that uses inspiration and challenge.” It is not only about bringing the students to their full academic potential but to inspire them to personally be the best person they can be,” he said.

King decided to bring his love for math to MUSD because all of the challenges working in a new school would present, and he wanted to work for school principal Isaac Perez.

“Working in a new school has brought much satisfaction and reward,” he said.

When he is not teaching, King said he loves spending time with his family, fellowshipping with his church and cheering on his favorite sports teams.

His most memorable moment in life is being in the delivery room during the birth of his youngest daughter.
