The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Phoenix District Office  announced the times and locations for the public scoping meetings to evaluate the potential impacts related to reopening several closed routes in Sonoran Desert National Monument.

The meetings will be held at:
•    Goodyear Library, June 22, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. The address is 14455 W. Van Buren St., Ste. C102.
•    Copper Sky Multigenerational Center, June 23, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.  The address is 44345 W. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Room A.

The BLM Sonoran Desert National Monument (SDNM) office has prepared the “SDNM: Juan Bautista de Anza Recreation Management Zone Recreation Plan Environmental Assessment (EA)” (DOI-BLM-AZ-P040-2015-0002-EA) to evaluate the potential impacts related to reopening several closed routes and constructing associated recreational amenities to protect and prevent the recurrence of damage to the natural and cultural features and objects for which the SDNM was designated.
