A structure fire that erupted Thursday night east of the city limits of Maricopa is still under investigation by the Maricopa Fire Department.

Last night at approximately 6:20 pm, Maricopa Fire/Medical units were dispatched to a reported house fire on Saddleback Vista Avenue. A pair of adjacent mobile homes were both fully engulfed in flames, according to Deputy Fire Chief Chris Bolinger.

A pair of adjacent mobile homes were both fully engulfed in flames.

“Fire conditions made it so that entry by fire crews was impossible. Three travel trailers on the property were considered immediate exposures due to their proximity to the fire,”

Bolinger said. “They were saved by the quick action and application of water by the firefighters on the scene. A dog and two cats were also rescued by the firefighters.”

Fire crews from Phoenix, Casa Grande, Mesa, and Chandler all responded to the fire to give assistance to MFD and the Maricopa Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). According to Bolinger, no injuries have been reported.

“The cause of the fire is under investigation,” he said.
