Homecoming Week kicks off for Maricopa High School Monday at 7 p.m. with a flag football game between students and staff at Ram Field, according to school officials.

Brian Winter, athletic director for Maricopa Unified Schools, said the following day students are scheduled to watch a movie at Ak-Chin UltraStar Multi-tainment Center.

Wednesday students and the community are encouraged to support local businesses during “Paint the Town Red” day.

MHS and community members host Ramfest Thursday night with an alumni football game and bonfire at Copper Sky.

MHS English teacher and alumna Jennifer Miller said the event is free and family-friendly. The football game between MHS alumni and the City of Maricopa staff begins at 7:30 p.m., followed by a snake walk at 8:30 p.m. and the bonfire at 8:45 p.m.

Friday the homecoming parade, led by the MHS Marching Band, begins at Maricopa Wells Middle School at 5:30 p.m. and marches into Ram Stadium. The Rams face off with the North Canyon Rattlers at 7 p.m.

Alumni cheerleaders will perform with current MHS cheerleaders at the game.

After students recover Saturday from the game the school is expected to win the night before, students can attend their homecoming dance which begins at 8 p.m.

Homecoming week events were planned by a combination of high school organizations including the Student Council, alumni and community members, according to Miller.

MHS Fight Song:

Oh, when the Maricopa Rams fall in line, we’re gonna win this game another time!

For the dear old school we love so much; for the red, white and black we’ll yell and yell and yell.

We’re gonna fight, fight, fight those Rattlers till the Rams prove they can win again!

We’re gonna push those Rattlers on the floor, out the door! Win, Win, Win!
