Maricopa schools are benefiting from Target’s Take Charge of Education Program.

For the program’s participating parents, teachers and school supporters, one percent of all purchases made using their Target red card go toward the cardholder’s school of choice. Currently there are 68 red card holders who are making contributions to MUSD schools

Since the inception of the program in 1997 the district has received $4,760.52. The most recent donation from the program was made to Maricopa High School in the amount of $165, a portion of the $1,056.65 the school has received since 1997.

“This is a great program and a benefit to our school district,” said Tom Beckett, spokesperson for the district.
