A Maricopa woman who went missing over the weekend has been found deceased, according to Maricopa Police Department.
Tammie Francene Helton, 57, walked away from her home in Maricopa on West Rosa Road on July 11 and had not been seen since. According to a social media post made by MPD, Tammie was said to suffer post-traumatic stress, depression, anxiety and had a history of suicide attempts.
At around 10 a.m. today, Tammie was found dead in the desert area just east of the location she was reported missing from.
“It appears Tammie succumbed to the elements and intense heat. A full autopsy will be conducted and MPD is awaiting this report,” MPD spokesman Ricardo Alvarado said. “Thank you all for the tips submitted on the possible whereabouts of Tammie.”
