MOMS Club holds pizza-making event

You want to become a pizza chef, but, unfortunately, you are just a bit too young. For those would-be chefs who love pizza, making it and eating it, the Maricopa MOMS Club held a pizza-making afternoon at Fat Daddy’s located in the Bashas’ Fiesta Center.

Fat Daddy’s actual pizza chef Rich Arnold helped the children, in groups of three, wash their hands in preparation for kneading (and pounding) the pizza dough.

After the sauce, the next step was adding cheese. Kyle Marquardt chose to do his cheese work one piece at a time.

It took a while, but, eventually, Kyle got all the cheese on the pizza.

When his personal project finally came out of the oven, the big moment arrived for Kyle. He got to eat his very own pizza. He may be young, but he has the pizza-making process well in hand — and in mouth.

The grand finale for Kyle was eating his own pizza.

The Maricopa MOMS Club sponsors outings like this every month for members and their offspring. A chapter of the International MOMS Club, they are a non-profit group offering support to stay-at-home moms and their children. They organize playgroups for the little ones as well as interest groups for the moms.

Monthly business and planning meetings are held on the third Friday of each month at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church on John Wayne Parkway.

“Because of the MOMS Club, I can’t go anywhere now without seeing someone I know,” explained Andrea Jackson. “It’s just great.”

Christine Piazza added, “Knowing people and making friendships really makes this feel like home.”
