A job fair at Central Arizona College on Wednesday had quite the turnout, according to Project Director Aaron Moon.

The fair was sponsored by Arizona@Work, the statewide workforce development network that helps employers recruit and retain employees.

At CAC’s Maricopa Campus, 17945 N. Regent Drive, the fair ran 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and attracted more than 130 jobseekers.

It was an opportunity for nearby residents to get their name out to about 45 employers, all of which were looking to hire.

“We focus on targeted industries. We like to get a good mix of manufacturing,” Moon said.

There were many choices for career paths, such as manufacturing, law enforcement, transportation, logistics, medical, hospitality, federal jobs, construction and military.

Well-known local enterprises on hand included Abbott Laboratories, Banner Health, Pinal County Sheriff’s Office, Lucid Motors and Nikola Corporation.

The job fair rotates throughout the county, Moon explained, however there are no specific plans to return to the city.

“We do love being in Maricopa, so we will definitely be back again,” Moon said.
