MPD investigating armed robbery

Maricopa police are seeking a man who forced a Quizno’s employee into a cooler at gun point and then robbed the restaurant.

Around 9:40 p.m. Sunday, police responded to an armed robbery at the restaurant on North John Wayne Parkway in Fry's Marketplace. Arriving units discovered the armed robbery had occurred approximately 20 minutes prior to dispatch receiving the call.

After securing the crime scene, police were met at the front entrance of the restaurant by an employee, who had been inside a cooler. The employee sustained a minor bruise during the incident that did not require medical attention.

According to the employee, an unknown suspect came to the front door after closing and was let into the restaurant by the employee. The suspect is described as a white male between 30 to 35 years old, approximately 6 feet tall, 220 pounds with short blonde hair wearing a dark T-shirt and jeans.
