Maricopa police officers responding to a complaint about residents at a house on West Bilbao Street may have discovered a marijuana grow house.
A man had called dispatch Sunday night reporting his roommates had requested that he leave the residence. The man alleged the roommates had weapons and marijuana inside the house. Officers determined that the location of the residence was on West Bilbao Street and attempted to contact the occupants.
While talking with the occupants at the house on West Bilbao Street in the Tortosa subdivision, officers detected a strong odor of marijuana emanating from the interior of the residence. Upon further investigation, officers observed equipment known for growing marijuana inside one of the rooms.
The occupants were removed from the residence and secured while a search warrant was obtained. Upon execution of the search warrant, officers recovered marijuana plants, artificial lighting, drug paraphernalia, weapons and an undisclosed amount of cash. Three subjects were taken into custody and charges are pending further investigation.
