Maricopa Police officers have closed off the intersection of Burkett and Pershing streets near the Rotary Pool with yellow crime scene tape.
At 9:15 a.m., two officers were in the middle of the intersection taking photographs of what appeared to be a plastic food storage bag. On the pavement near the officers were small green cones with numbers.
When asked what was going on, one officer said they were still working on it and a report would be forthcoming. Stay with InMaricopa.com for more details as they become available.
