Students eager to show their art to family attended the district’s third annual art walk on Thursday.

The exhibit, which included art from the elementary, middle and high schools, was held at the district office, 44150 Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway. The pieces on display ranged from graphic design and photography to painting and drawing.

Maricopa High School’s Sinfonia orchestra performed on the patio under the direction of Ivan Pour, school music director.

The art was judged and the district handed out blue ribbons for the best work.

In the elementary school competition, Azucena Wetherington, a fifth-grader at Santa Rosa Elementary, took first place. Bella Lamis, a third-grader at Pima Butte, won second place and first-grader Jabari Frieson of Butterfield Elementary came in third place.

In the middle school category, Maricopa Wells eighth-grader Ana Ozuna Alcazar won first place. Second place went to Maricopa Wells eighth-grader Brittany Price and Desert Wind eighth-grader Jonathan Perez won third place.

First place in the high school category went to senior Camille Rustaert. Senior Miguel Gonzalez won second place and senior Bianca Sharpe came in third place.
