Results of the MUSD election have flipped again, putting Tracie Armstead-Payton in the lead for the final seat over Jim Jordan.

The latest round of ballot-counting has altered the race for Maricopa Unified School District Governing Board.

Newcomer Tracie Armstead-Payton is vying with incumbent Jim Jordan for the third available seat, after Torri Anderson and AnnaMarie Knorr apparently took command of the first two seats. Armstead-Payton led Jordan early on election night, but Jordan had been ahead by a slim margin ever since.

Today, however, Pinal County’s latest unofficial tallies put Armstead-Payton 31 votes ahead of Jordan.

Armstead-Payton now has 9,683 votes to Jordan’s 9,652. Anderson’s total is now 11,629, and Knorr’s is 11,149.

The update did not alter the race for a seat on Maricopa City Council. Amber Liermann maintains a 55%-44% lead over Andre LaFond.

According to numbers from the Secretary of State’s office, in the state Legislature election, District 11 House incumbents Bret Roberts and Mark Finchem are holding off Democrat Felipe Perez. Roberts leads with 35%, with Finchem at 34% in the race for two seats. Perez has 31% of the vote.

In District 11 Senate race, incumbent Republican Vince Leach leads JoAnna Mendoza, 53% to 46%.

At the congressional level, Democrats Tom O’Halleran in the District 1 House race and Mark Kelly in the Senate race have held off their opponents by similar margins.

O’Halleran is ahead of Republican Tiffany Shedd, 52% to 48%. Kelly leads appointed Sen. Martha McSally 52% to 48%.
