The Maricopa Unified School District Governing Board will discuss and possibly approve a project to renovate the office and main entrances at Maricopa Wells Middle School and Maricopa Elementary School during its meeting at 6:30 tonight.

The proposed renovation coincides with the district’s emphasis on campus safety and security, maintaining safe facilities for all students and staff.

The renovations could include reducing the number of doors that can be opened from the outside or reconfiguring the main entrance design so there is a secondary set of secure doors. More details will be provided tonight.

Jacob Harmon, the district’s Chief Financial Officer, recommends the Board approve the request for quotation to push the security project forward.

Other topics on tonight’s agenda include discussion of the personnel schedule and projected budget for fiscal year 2024, and the Final Mile Project that aims to provide LTE/5G network connectivity through Pinal County and MUSD.
